In the twisted doppelganger world of Sunnydale, the entity known as Dawn Summers never came to be. Instead, the destructive energy which formed her divided into two highly distinct individuals, each representing the extreme good, and evil, of the predestined Dawn personality. The good half, Righteous Dawn, is spritually pure and powerful, while representing all the weaker physical aspects of Dawn. The evil half, Dark Dawn, is spiritually corrupt and amoral, but represents all the physical power of the two, with her super-strength and innate abilities.

This twin has faced numerous obstacles since her conception. With each encounter though she has learned more and more to use her physical prowess to win through and has become an elite assassin of great skill. She holds no allegience to anyone and has turned on many of Sunnydale's greatest villains when it served her purposes. She survives by any means nessecary and cares little for those that get stepped on in the process. On numerous occasions she has come in contact with her purer half, but in rare displays of what her twin would call "compassion", she has yet to bring herself to harm her mirror image. Her motives behind this and other actions are always unknown.
